Mustangs’ Taming the Wildcats Proves Unsuccessful

Our Remond Varsity Mustangs had trouble corralling in the Mount Si Wildcats on their home ground last night resulting in a 10-3 loss. The Mustangs went toe-to-toe with the Wildcats until the 5th inning at which point the Wildcats distanced themselves beyond the Mustang’s reach.

#6 Chase Lawson started on the mound for the Mustangs and went 2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, striking out 3 and walking 3. #12 Lance Burt provide some South-Paw relief for 2.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits, striking out 4 and walking 2. #9 Brandon Dayberry came in as the closing reliever allowing 3 runs on 1 hit, striking out 2 and walking 2.

#17 Mathias Gendzwill led the Mustangs with 2 Runs-Batted-In (RBI) going 2-for-4 in the game. #11 Aidan Kim and #15 Cavin Bowmer both led the team in Quality-At-Bats (QAB) with 2 base-on-balls each. Defensively, the Mustangs converted a 6-3 double-play when Bowmer fielded a ground ball, swept his foot across 2nd base and threw over to #13 Isaiah McMahan at 1st Base for the DP.

Next game for the Mustangs will be another Away-game at Issaquah High School on Friday, 3/22, at 4:00 PM where the Mustangs will take on the Eagles.

GO STANGS BABY!
