For their last game of the 2023 season, our Redmond Mustangs defeated the North Creek Jaguars 1-0 on Friday, 4/28, as two pitchers, #2 Dillon Hartman and #6 Chase Lawson, combined to throw a shutout.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Mustangs pitchers struck out ten, while the North Creek Jaguars pitchers sat down six.
Hartman earned the win for the Mustangs. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. Lawson threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen allowing two hits and striking out five.
#1 Ethan Tung, #23 Josh Tyler, #15 Mathias Gendzwill, #3 Jon Holmen, #8 Andrew McBain, and Hartman each collected one hit each for the Mustangs.
It was an exclamation point to the season and an emotional win for the Mustang Seniors marking the end of their baseball careers for most. After the game, the Mustangs lingered and embraced their final moments on the diamond and celebrated with each other the camaraderie and bonds they built during the season…..through thick and thin.
