Mustangs Beat the Royals, 12-2

#3 Hiroshi Johnson collected four hits in four at bats, as Your Varsity Mustangs defeated the Lynnwood Royals 12-2 on Tuesday. Johnson doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

The Mustangs got on the board in the top of the first inning after #6 Chase Lawson tripled, and #12 Lance Burt hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. The Mustangs added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after the Royals committed an error, #2 Jay Heath singled down the left field line, and #13 Isaiah McMahan hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. The Mustangs extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by #10 Roman Collins and Heath.

Heath earned the win for the Mustangs. The starter allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking one. #4 Owen Gore relief pitched for two innings allowing one hit and one run, striking out three and walking five. Burt pitched one inning of scoreless ball for the Mustangs in relief and allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking two. #15 Cavin Bowmer collected the save allowing no runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking two.

The Mustangs tallied 13 hits in the game. Heath went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. The Mustangs turned one double play in the game.
