Bats Galore and 1-Hit Pitching on Senior Night as Mustangs Propel Past the Wolverines, 12-2

Last night was Senior Night for your Redmond Mustangs, and it was a great one. #3 Hiroshi Johnson drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Mustangs past Bellevue Varsity Wolverines 12-2.

The Mustangs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after #15 Cavin Bowmer grounded out, scoring one run, #11 Aidan Kim was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and #8 Nolan Martin singled, scoring two runs. The Mustangs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when #6 Chase Lawson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Johnson singled, scoring two runs, and Martin singled, scoring one run. The Mustangs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when #12 Lance Burt singled, scoring one run, and Johnson doubled, scoring three runs.

Mustang pitching was lights-out only allowing one hit all night. Lawson started as pitcher and earned the win for the Mustangs. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking three. #7 Sean Laizans appeared in relief for the Mustangs allowing no hits and no runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two.

The Mustangs amassed a whopping 12 hits in the game. #13 Isaiah McMahan, #2 Jay Heath, Burt, Martin, and Johnson each collected two hits for the Mustangs.

After the game, the Mustangs’ family and friends enjoyed the evening with a celebrational ceremony for the graduating seniors.
