Senior Wil Helland makes an incredible run saving catch in the bottom of the 6th inning.
In a game that was barely one and a half hours long, Redmond lost to the host Bellevue Wolverines, 1-0
Redmond starter Landon Thompson found himself in trouble in the first inning as Bellevue was quickly up 1-0 with runners on first and third and nobody out. A strikeout, pop out, and ground out later and Thompson was out of the inning without any further damage. From there, the junior was in command. He would only give up two more hits the rest of the way in a 68 pitch complete game performance. Thompson did everything he could do to give the Mustangs the chance for the win.
Unfortunately, Redmond couldn't get anything going offensively. When they did, it would be snuffed out quickly. The Mustangs, who only tallied three hits on the day, hit into three double-plays. Only one Mustang baserunner ever made it to 3rd base.
The loss is the third in a row for the Mustangs and drops their record to 2-4 in league play. They host Interlake (also 2-4) on Wednesday at Hartman at 6 pm. Come on out and cheer the Mustangs on to victory.
