The Redmond Mustangs responded well to Friday's loss to Liberty with a convincing win over the Sammamish Totems, 14-1.
Redmond was able to take advantage of nine walks and eight hits to score the 14 runs in 5 innings of play. With very aggressive baserunning and well executed offense, the Mustangs tallied runs in each of the five innings. Will Helland and Spencer Uyematsu each had two hits on the day with Helland driving in three while Uyematsu scored three times. Sophomore Calvin Cadman and junior Yui Suzuki also drove in two runs apiece.
Senior Nick Fazio got the start for Redmond and took full advantage. He pitched four strong innings, allowing four hits and only one run. He struck out three. Sophomore Matthew Janetzki closed the door with a perfect 5th inning, striking out two.
Redmond hosts Bellevue, 3-0 in league play, on Wednesday night at Hartman Park at 6 pm. Fill the stands!
