Issaquah pitcher Brady Liddle muffled the Redmond bats long enough to give his hitters time to break open a close game late as the Eagles beat the Mustangs 7-1 on Tuesday.

Liddle gave up one run on four hits, striking out three. Landon Thompson took the loss for Redmond. He allowed five hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one.

With the Mustangs down 2-0 in the third, Shane Melrose relieved Thompson and put up three strong innings of work to give the Redmond bats time to come around.

In the sixth, Darek Khabani scored on a Duncan Warriner groundout to make it a one-run game heading into the seventh. But Issaquah capitalized on a walk, hit batter, and a two-run error to make it 4-1 and tacked on three more before Emily Tsujikawa closed out the top of the inning.

With a 7-1 lead, Liddle sealed the win for the Eagles, setting down the Mustangs in order in the bottom of seventh.
