Bats Alive, Mustangs Pound Out 13 Hits

On a day that reached 75 degrees in late April, the Redmond Mustangs' bats were equally hot. Their 13 hits and solid pitching from Cam Page and Blake Steckler pushed Redmond past the Skyline Spartans 6-4.

Three hitters racked up multiple hits on the day. Senior Branden Hayward was 2-3 with two runs scored. Junior Parker Narloch was 3-4 with two runs scored. And, senior Milo Mincin was 3-3 with 3 RBI.

Junior right-hander Cam Page was on cruise control early. Taking advantage of the Spartan hitters' aggressiveness, Page was cruising through five, only allowing one run on 59 pitches. However, in the 6th Skyline managed two homeruns off of Page to tie the game at 4. Redmond would respond with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 6th, and sophomore Blake Steckler came on for a 1-2-3 7th inning and the save.

Redmond (11-3) has now won four in a row and look to push it to five with an upcoming tilt against their rival, the Eastlake Wolves (4-8). The game is Wednesday at Eastlake at 6 pm. Be there.
